The MENTOR Initiative is one of the world’s leading nonprofit organizations dedicated to fighting malaria and other vector-borne diseases in emergencies. The organization directly delivers large-scale disease control interventions to the most vulnerable communities caught in emergency situations and, in parallel, also works to strengthen the technical and operational capacities of local and international partners on the ground, to integrate disease control systems in the medium and long term. in their operations and country strategy.

The MENTOR Initiative is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Program Manager, to join its leadership team at HQ to work on programs in Africa. The right person will have the initiative, leadership, and technical skills to help design, support, and direct effective new vector-borne disease control programs in some of the most challenging settings on the planet today.

You will need to have excellent teamwork skills, advanced written and verbal communication skills, relevant national and technical experience, and be able to support national teams and help them realize their full potential and impact .

Some of your skills will include a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in program design, planning and implementation. At least two years of disease control in Africa. A proven ability to manage and train others and provide effective technical support. You will have at least a master’s degree in public health, epidemiology, parasitology, disease control or a related field. A proven ability to generate and maintain highly productive partnerships with local and international health organizations and excellent skills in monitoring and evaluating health program activities. You’ll also be fluent in English, with other languages ​​like French, Portuguese, Arabic or Spanish as a bonus.
